YOU CAN HAVE THE BEST PRODUCT OR SERVICE IN THE WORLD,BUT WHO WILL KNOW IF YOU DON'T ADVERTISE?

Over the last few months i've talked to several people selling advertising.I talked to an individual who is a longtime career radioman,a young lady selling yelow page ads,and a gentleman who has his own business creating real estate magazines locally.Each of these individuals explained to me that it was getting tougher to sell advertising because small business were hurting,and their budgets were down to bare bones,if not completely nonexistent in the marketing and advertising category.

In fact,they were so busy trying to pay forent,that they couldn't afford to pay for advertising,and even if they did take out advertising it was very hard to collect from them.It seemed that each of these individuals selling advertising was also busy reffering business to each other and trying to network them together as an added bonus just to show their advertisers that their advertising and marketing strategies worked,and that they should continue to advertise with them.

One thing i've always found interesting,and you must realize that I am a former franchisor,is that all too often small business entrepreneurs will forgo marketing and advertising costs or cut their budgets severely to save money.One could argue,as advertising costs and marketing salespeople and account executives often do that advertising would be the last thing you'd wish to cut,and you should cut everything else first.There is a little bit of truth in that,although such statements and advice are often considered a little self-serving coming from those account executives directly.

Still,we all know it's true that you can have the best product or service the world,but if no one knows about it,and you don't advertise,then how do you expect people to come through the door?Typically they wont,and many small business somehow assume that they can do all their marketing and advertising on social networks and social media which doesn't cost anything(except time)and that will bring them all the business they need.It won't,and it typically doesn't work,but those bills are reoccurring and they must be paid;employess,rent,insurance,inventory,etc.Thus,there are two things i'd like you to consider;

1.Choosing Advertising Venues
2.The power of reppetition

You need to choose a couple of different advertising and marketing Venues,and realize the power of marketing and advertising comes from repetition,and the synergy you generate from multiple impressions in the mind of the consumer.It needs to be consistent,you can't just turn it off and on,you need to budget these costs as if they were part of your fixed expenses if you want to succed in bussines.pleas consider all this and think on it.
